U8 is a high-carbon tool steel, very hard and with excellent edge retention.
U8 is a high-carbon tool steel, composed of up to 97% iron and 0.83% carbon with minor alloying elements. This hard steel offers excellent edge retention, making it a popular choice for survival knives. Note that this steel is not stainless and requires proper maintenance to prevent corrosion.
