Knives with blades made of 65G steel (also known by its Russian designation 65Г), a type of high-carbon spring steel known for its exceptional hardness and durability. For decades, this steel was a mainstay in knife production before the development of modern, high-tech powder steels. Although it requires more care to prevent corrosion, its superior resistance to chipping and bending makes it an excellent choice for hard-use field knives at an affordable price point. This steel can be hardened to 60-62 on the HRC scale, offering a solid balance of performance. While it won't hold its edge as long as premium powder steels, it can be easily re-sharpened, even with basic equipment.
