High-tech powder metallurgy steel—the top tier of blade materials. Elmax is a chromium-vanadium-molybdenum (1.7% C, 18% Cr, 1% Mo, 3% V) stainless powder steel characterized by high wear resistance. Typically, outstanding wear resistance is associated with low corrosion resistance and vice versa. However, in the case of Elmax steel, these exceptional properties were achieved thanks to the powder metallurgy process.
