"Bystroriez" is a colloquial Russian name for knives made from R12 steel – a very hard (65-67 HRC) high-speed tool steel that guarantees the knife will "hold an edge" for a very long time. The flip side is that blades with such hardness are less flexible, meaning they are more brittle. These are by no means throwing knives. The knives from this series offered in our store come from the Okskiye Nozhi company. Their "Bystroriez" knives stand out favorably compared to similar products from other manufacturers. All of them have an anti-corrosion coating that gives the blades a black color. The pommels are finished with a screw-in ball, to which a lanyard can be attached to further prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade.
Knives made from R12 steel require more careful maintenance than stainless steel knives. The anti-corrosion coating will wear off over time, so after returning from the field, they should be oiled and stored in a dry place. All handles are made of wenge wood. The sheaths are made of leather. Each knife has an inscription at the base of the blade: "ОКСКИЕ НОЖИ сталь Р12 КОВАНАЯ" (OKSKIYE NOZHI, R12 FORGED STEEL), and on the other side, there is a small disc with the steel's HRC hardness rating.
