Description
A long curved knife from NOKS, modeled after Caucasian and Turkish curved daggers. Unlike double-edged daggers with a straight blade, known askamys,curved, single-edged knives, suitable for stabbing and chopping, were calledbebuts.This specific form, initially a hallmark of Eastern warriors, gradually spread to culturally different peoples. Bebuts became widespread in Cossack troops in the 19th century, and at the beginning of the 20th century, precisely in 1907, they were officially adopted as standard sidearms of certain units of the Tsarist army, including the artillery. The artillery bebut model 1907 was 60 cm long, with a blade length of 44 cm.
The Bebut-5U from NOKS, designed by Aleksandr Biriukov, is the culmination of a model line of heavy field knives, which includes the White Bear-5, Wzmach, Shatun, Atacama, Corvo-5 – all with identical elastron handles with a massive screw on the head. The blade made of U8 steel is 5 mm thick at its thickest points. The back of the blade for 18 cm is ground to a false edge, concave grind.
