Finka NKWD tactic black
Description
Like most knife manufacturers operating on the Russian market, during the war in Ukraine, the Siomina company began releasing tactical knife models aimed at customers mobilized into the army. Many of them independently procure equipment, where permissible, that is more comfortable than standard-issue army boots, thermal underwear, or even primitive compact hunting seats (known in Russian army slang as "poddupniks"). This also applies to knives, which, while retaining full functionality, are usually lighter than what can be obtained from the supply warehouse. Siomina applied practical modifications to several models that have been in its product line for years in more expensive versions. These include the iconic NKVD puukko and NR-43 scout knife, both cult classics in Russia, in their civilian variants that do not require a permit in Russia. All are equipped with new plastic sheaths featuring two loops, one wide loop for a belt and a second, narrower one at the bottom for lashing. The sheath has a special retention clip allowing the knife to be carried handle-down. All knives feature a military-pattern double guard. The black or olive Elastron handle is fitted over the tang. The NKVD-1 finka differs from the historical models in that it has a 6-centimeter serrated section on the spine, the original knives of this type did not have any serrations. The blades are relatively thin, made of 95x18 or U8 steel. In any of its material variants, the knife's weight does not exceed 240g.
