Description

A replica of a Yakut knife made by Kizlyar. Yakut knives follow the design of historical knives originally crafted from split animal bones. This is why one side of the blade, the one without a fuller, is slightly convex on traditional Yakut knives. It should be noted that the knives made by Kizlyar do not have this feature, the blade is completely flat with a full flat grind. The other side of the blade has a wide fuller (blood groove) which stiffens the blade, reduces its weight, and saves material. At the base of the blade, under the handle, there is a laser-engraved inscription: "Кизляр Сделано в России AUS8" and a hologram. The other side features the inscription "Якутский" and the manufacturer's logo. The blade is smoothly ground, with no forging marks remaining. The handle is made of walnut wood, without any guard or swelling to prevent the hand from slipping onto the edge. This might be considered a flaw, but that is simply how these knives were designed. Perhaps one needs to be a Yakut to handle it skillfully. The leather sheath is a Scandinavian-style slip-in type with a wooden insert. It does not have a belt loop, the sheath is attached to a belt with leather thongs.
