Wolf (mosaic damascus, buffalo horn, mammoth tooth, mokume bolster)
Description
A beautiful knife with a mosaic damascus blade made in the Matviev blacksmith's workshop. This is a very well-known and valued producer specializing in mosaic damascus. His blades are used by many knife makers, even those with famous names and established brands on the market. The blade has a drop point profile with a full flat grind. The handle is made of black buffalo horn. In the pommel there is a hole for a lanyard or wrist strap. On the blade side, the handle ends with a bolstermade in a Japanese technique calledmokume gane,in which different metals are combined to create an ornamental pattern, in this particular case copper and nickel. The handle's elitism is further emphasized by a mammoth tooth inlay. A Finnish-type push-in leather sheath, made of very stiff and hard leather, decorated with an embossed and colored drawing of a wolf's head and a bird of prey soaring against a backdrop of mountain peaks. The knife is seated in it so firmly that it could be carried with the handle down, although the sheath is intended for belt suspension.
