Wasp AUS10

The Wasp is a skeleton knife described by the manufacturer as a "combat throwing knife" ("Rus. боевой метательный нож") and is a copy of a knife once produced for the needs of reconnaissance and sabotage units. This model has (also in Poland) many more and less successful copies, as well as ordinary fakes. Due to its small size, the Wasp was not subject to restrictions typical for combat knives on the Russian market, which means it could be sold without permits. Like other knives from the Saro model line, after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the Wasp underwent a metamorphosis intended to emphasize its military character and thus increase its attractiveness for those mobilized who purchase some elements of equipment on their own. The changes did not affect the shape and size of the knife itself, but while all previous versions had simple Kapron sheaths with a belt loop, the new Wasps are sold with sheaths made of durable ABS with holes on the edges of the sheath allowing them to be sewn (laced with paracord) to backpacks, tactical vests or carrying systems, also in the handle-down position. knife has a matte, non-reflective dagger blade with a 2.5 cm ball. The handle is wrapped with string. Sheath suspension compatible with the MOLLE system. Previously, Russian Wasps were made only of ordinary stainless steel, now SARO also releases a more expensive version with AUS10. AUS10 is AUS8 with afterburners - it has a higher cobalt content, which allows it to be hardened at higher temperatures and obtain greater hardness while maintaining significant corrosion resistance.
