Wanderer (stabilized karelyan birch handle)
Description
A knife with a handle made of stabilized Karelian birch with an original grind – at the end of the blade, a partially concave grind changes into a fully concave grind, resulting in a clearly marked "feather" on the tang. The blade has undergone additional processing involving repeated acid etching - in addition to the natural pattern of the Damascus steel resulting from the forging of carbon steels, a pattern of chaotically intersecting light lines has been applied. The handle is made of stabilized Karelian birch, one of the more expensive types of stabilized wood. These handles are processed, the exact process of which is a secret of each manufacturer. The handles are given an unnatural color, emphasizing the unique grain pattern. In addition to their aesthetic value, these handles have the advantage of being completely water-repellent. Since no two handles are identical, photos of each knife are taken anew for each copy. The handle is finished on both sides with Melchior castings. The ferrule crowning the knife head features a double-headed eagle and the manufacturer's logo.
