Vityaz-1 olive (ABS sheath)

A new civilian version of the Vityaz, 99% identical to the combat Vityaz-T. The Vityaz-T is the military, fully combat-ready (and thus requiring a permit) version of the Vityaz knife, which has been in production since 2020. In the second half of this year (2025), Kizlyar released the Vityaz-1 knife, a model so close to the Vityaz-T that I initially thought it was a mistake. The knife has a massive, nearly 5 mm thick blade with the same profile and a fully functional, typically military double guard. To understand the basis on which it could be approved for sale in Russia as a non-combat knife, I had to read the certificate carefully. I have seen various tricks devised for this purpose, but I must admit that this time it is a world-class move (if the world played such games). The last of the photos below shows the tip of the blade on the Vityaz-1. The photo shows that the very tip has been blunted from the spine side in such a way that the angle at which the spine, in this case, this blunted 4-millimeter section, meets the cutting edge exceeds 70 degrees. It turns out that this is enough to strip it of its "combat" features, and this is the only thing that distinguishes it from the Vityaz-T. The rest, meaning the blade with a fuller and a partial hollow grind, the guard, the Elastron handle with a protruding tang end, and the plastic sheath with holes along the edges allowing it to be worn not only on a belt but also laced to tactical vests, remained unchanged. Made of AUS-8 steel.

Under the handle, the blade is marked with "KIZLYAR Сделано в России AUS8" and a hologram. The other side of the blade features the manufacturer's logo and the inscription "Витязь-1".
