Description
A full tang field knife made by Kizlyar with a wooden handle and an uncommon leaf-shaped blade profile. The blade widens slightly towards the tip from both the spine and the cutting edge, after which both these lines, the spine and the edge, meet to form a symmetrical point. Partial hollow grind. Walnut handle scales. The blade features a hologram confirming it is an authentic Kizlyar product and the inscription: "Кизляр Сделано в России AUS8" and, on the other side, "Варан" and the manufacturer's logo. Black leather sheath with an embossed image of a monitor lizard.
The Kizlyar company from Dagestan is one of the few Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. Kizlyar prides itself on combining the old traditions of Caucasian craftsmen specializing in bladesmithing with new production technologies.
