Ural PGK
Description
The first Ural from Kizlyar Supreme was a new release at the end of 2019. At that time, it was likely the only knife with a convex grind in their lineup. This type of grind, ideal for chopping and therefore often found on machetes, is quite rare in medium-length knives. The Ural was intended from the outset to be "heavy artillery": a tool capable of handling any task a hunter or hiker might face in the field. The knife is not light despite its small size, the nearly half-centimeter thick blade with such a grind and a full tang has significant weight (260g without the sheath), but in return, we get a tool that can be relied on in any conditions. From the beginning, the Urals became bestsellers, and new material variants are released from time to time. In 2025, the Ural in PGK steel was introduced. The profile and grind remain unchanged. The blade finish is TacWash. The full tang handles are made of black G-10. The sheath is leather with embossing.
The Dagestani company Kizlyar Supreme (not to be confused with Kizlyar, also from Dagestan) is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. Kizlyar Supreme focuses on combining the old traditions of Caucasian knife makers with the latest production technologies. Kizlyar Supreme products are the result of the manual work of craftsmen who have been making knives for generations, except that today they have the most modern programmable machining centers and hardening furnaces.
