Universal 2 (pattern welded damascus)
Description
A knife from the Marushyny brothers workshop, with a blade profile the manufacturer named "Universal" a name I find rather unfortunate, as it suggests a universal character, while it's a typically military knife, i.e., intended for combat, mainly for thrusting. For three-quarters of its length, the cutting edge and the back are straight and run parallel. A high, minimally concave grind on the blade side. The back is partially ground down for 11 cm from the tip, resulting in a stiletto-like aggressive thrust. The handle is assembled from two pieces of wood and leather rings in the middle. On the blade side, the handle ends with a brass guard, to some extent preventing the fingers from slipping onto the blade, but it's not a full guard. A Finnish-type sheath, smooth, made of good, thick leather.
