UOE II
Description
Knife of the special operations forces of the Spanish army. Quite heavy (415 gr without sheath, 550 gr), full tang with black micarta handle scales. The manufacturer describes it as a "universal tactical knife", but for me it is a gear with a very large reserve of durability and a clearly military character, more for a soldier than a tourist or bushcrafter. A straight stabbing blade (spear point tip) with a partial hollow grind and a serrated fragment on the cutting edge intended for cutting lines, fishing lines or nylon nets. In the place where the tang turns into the blade, there are double-sided protrusions that provide support for the fingers, always useful, but a must in knives intended for thrusting. A camouflage cordura sheath with a pocket for (probably) a sharpener, which is not included in the set. It has a loop for wearing on a wide military belt, but it can also be easily attached to weight carrying systems. Stainless steel with a hardness of 58 HRC.
On the blade there is an inscription "UOE II" which is deciphered as Unidad de Operaciones Especiales (Special Operations Unit). There is a lighter variant of this knife, also available in our offer, called "UOE II compact".
Forester is one of the few old Spanish manufacturers that has resisted pressure to move production to China. The knives are still not only designed but also manufactured in the factory in Albacete, Spain.
