A large and heavy (404 g without the sheath, 513 g with the sheath) survival knife made of 80CrV2 steel by a Polish maker who uses the brand name Manufaktura Black Hammer for his products. The philosophy behind Black Hammer knives can be summarized in one word: resilience, or in one sentence: an "all purpose" tool for conditions where you cannot count on a quick replacement. There are better knives for combat, more comfortable bushcrafters, more discreet EDCs, and better blades for use in a field kitchen, but if the most important thing is for the knife not to chip or break, Black Hammer is definitely one of the best options, provided you can afford it and have enough strength to carry it. This maker's favorite material is NCV1 steel, also known as 80CrV2. It is a carbon steel and therefore prone to corrosion. The presence of chromium as an alloying additive gives it some rust resistance, but blades made from it are still usually covered with a protective coating. Knifemakers appreciate it for its ease of processing on the one hand, and for its durability and resistance to mechanical damage on the other (if you need to baton, this is the tool for the job). Sources online state that 80CrV2 can be hardened to 58-62 HRC, but Black Hammer specifies a hardness of 57-58 HRC, which makes more sense for a survival knife. All knives are handmade, from cutting the profile to applying the grind. They are made as one-offs or in very small batches. The sheaths are custom-made and fitted to each individual knife.

The Terror series knives are full tang blades with aggressive profiles, a flat cutting edge, and an American tanto point. The spine is partially ground. The spine has a thumb rest, with a corresponding choil for the index finger on the blade side. The handle scales are made of G10. The blade has an anti-corrosion coating in a tiger stripe pattern. It features a partial flat grind. The knife comes with a black Kydex sheath with a leather loop for belt attachment.
