Taj Pan
Description
Forged damascus knife designed by Martinez Albainox. A very aesthetic knife made of 73-layer damascus. It belongs to the Tokisu model line, which includes products that in some way refer to the Japanese tradition, although for me in this particular case it is not so obvious, but it is probably because I lack knowledge about Japanese knives. High hollow grind. The blade profile is a trialing point with a minimal tip elevation above the spine line. Ebony handle with a prominent bolster. Leather sheath, slip-on, Finnish type, with decorative embossing. The Tokisu brand belongs to the Spanish company Martinez Albainox, once one of the largest knife manufacturers in Spain. Today, Albainox still designs its own knives, grouped into several registered model lines, but has moved almost all production to China. However, these are still branded products, which means that there is someone who cares about their quality. In such a system, the place of production ceases to be a disadvantage and becomes an advantage, because it allows us to offer an excellent price-quality ratio. The Tokisu model line includes knives that clearly refer to the Japanese tradition. They are made of Chinese industrial steel and Chinese forged damascus, usually 67 layers. The components of the package are unknown, and the declared hardness is 57-58 HRC.
