Syberian (laminated blade)
Description
A practical pocket knife with a single forged, laminated blade in a leather sheath. The blade core is made of 9XC steel (Russian designation; in Polish it would be written as: 9ChSi – 0.9% carbon with added Cr-chromium and Si-silicon) – a hard, carbon tool steel used, among other things, in the production of drills, milling cutters, punches, etc. The hardness of the core at the cutting edge is very high – up to 63 HRC. On both sides of the core are layers of lower-hardened U8 carbon steel with nickel threads. The soft outer layers protect the hard and more brittle core. The nickel "snakes" are purely aesthetic. The bluish tint of the blade is obtained during the hardening process. The handle is made of acrylic resembling stone. The knife has a liner lock.
