Sturm Elmax
Description
A full tang tactical knife made of Elmax powder steel. The first Shturm models were created at the request of German customers, hence the blade length of 119 mm – Germany has restrictions on freely carrying knives with a blade length over 12 cm. Military personnel also reported a demand for a shorter tactical knife, as not everyone needs a blade like a Roman legionary's sword. The knife is a full tang construction with a Tactical Echelon handle, characteristic of the Kizlyar Supreme tactical knife line. These handles have a distinctive profile that ensures a good grip with both a bare hand and gloves. They are made from a combination of Kraton (a thermoplastic polymer rubber with high resistance to cracking and abrasion) and ABS (a hard, impact-resistant polymer) with a granular texture. The Shturm models immediately became bestsellers, and Kizlyar Supreme periodically releases new material variants in new colors, sometimes with different sheaths. The variant offered here is made of Elmax powder steel with a hardness of 62-63 HRC. The blade grind is a full flat grind. It features a black ABS handle and a multi-position polyamide sheath, also in black.
The Dagestani company Kizlyar Supreme (not to be confused with Kizlyar, also from Dagestan) is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. Kizlyar Supreme focuses on combining the ancient traditions of Caucasian knife makers with the latest production technologies. Kizlyar Supreme products are the result of the manual work of craftsmen who have been making knives for generations, now equipped with state-of-the-art programmable machining centers and hardening furnaces.
