Sturm AUS10Co convex
Description
A full tang tactical knife made of cryogenically hardened AUS-10Co steel. The first Shturm models were created at the request of German customers, hence the 119 mm blade length – Germany has restrictions on the open carry of knives with blades longer than 12 cm. A demand for a shorter tactical knife was also reported by military personnel, as not everyone needs a blade like a Roman legionary's sword. The knife is a full tang construction with a Tactical Echelon handle, characteristic of Kizlyar Supreme's tactical knife line. These handles have a distinctive profile ensuring a secure grip with both bare hands and gloves. They are made from a combination of Kraton (a thermoplastic polymer rubber with high resistance to cracking and abrasion) and ABS (a hard, impact-resistant polymer plastic) with a grainy texture. The Shturm knives immediately became bestsellers, and Kizlyar Supreme periodically releases new material variants in new colors, sometimes with different sheaths. The variant offered here is made of cryogenically hardened AUS-10Co steel with a hardness of 61 HRC, but the most significant change in this model is the convex grind of the blade. The handle is black and green made of ABS, and it comes with a multi-positional sheath in a green color.
The Dagestani company Kizlyar Supreme (not to be confused with Kizlyar, also from Dagestan) is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. Kizlyar Supreme focuses on combining the old traditions of Caucasian knife makers with the latest production technologies. Kizlyar Supreme products are the result of the manual work of craftsmen who have been making knives for generations, except today they have the most modern programmable machining centers and hardening furnaces at their disposal.
