Description

The new NOKS knife appeared in their offer in 2019. The intention, to quote the manufacturer's description, was for it to be "a comfortable, city-wearable, universal instrument of medium size". The Stalker does indeed have a Kydex sheath with a Tek-Lok attachment, allowing it to be carried on a belt horizontally and vertically, including with the handle pointing downwards. It may be medium-sized, but it's a full tang with a 4mm thick blade at the ricasso and weighs 277 grams with the sheath. For me, that's a bit much for everyday carry in the city; regardless of how you carry it, it will always attract attention, and there's no way to wear it around your neck. The blade has an unusual geometry; the leaf shape with an upward-sloping back makes the Stalker resemble Nessmuk knives, except the back is sharpened (yes, the Stalker is double-edged; I don't know what they must have given the standardization institute experts to allow it to be sold in Russia without permits). Eating with it is impossible. The grind is a full flat on one side and a high flat on the other. The blade has blunted sections at the base, top and bottom, for the fingers, and the tang has an additional protrusion below the index finger (a so-called sub-hilt), enabling various grips. The Stalker is made of D2 steel with a hardness of 59-61 HRC, with G10 handle scales on screws. At the end of the handle there's a hole for a lanyard or wrist strap. Overall, it's all very nice and makes the Stalker a great field knife with high functionality, although perhaps not for everyday city carry.
