Spas-2 (leather handle, gilding, duralumin fittings)
Description
A field knife with a military flair – the first, long sold-out batch of Spas-2 was produced for the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation (МЧС РФ). Made of high-quality 95x18 stainless steel. Hardness 56-58 HRC. The handle, made of stacked leather rings, is finished on both sides with duralumin fittings. It features a spear point blade with a high hollow grind. Below the handle, on the blade, there is a gilded inscription: "Росоружие Златоуст" (Rosoruzhiye Zlatoust), the manufacturer's logo, and the steel grade designation: 95x18. The other side of the blade is decorated with an electroplated gilded engraving of a hunting-themed motif. On the spine, there is a 6-centimeter saw. The end of the handle has a hole for attaching a lanyard or wrist loop. The military-style black leather sheath (with a frog) is embossed with the manufacturer's logo and the word Златоуст (Zlatoust) on the belt loop. This knife is perfect for a gift and one could say it is very practical, if not for the fact that it is simply too beautiful to use.
The Zlatoust company is one of the few Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. It prides itself on a several-hundred-year tradition in the production of bladed weapons.
