Sapsan
Description
Melita K company from Kazan (Tatarstan) is among the top Russian manufacturers of knives, including those classified as combat knives. The latter are made to order for the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation. Melita prides itself on using its own patented stainless steel (70X16МФС) surpassingother stainless steels in terms of hardness and flexibility. They also often apply camouflage coating to the blade.
Sapsan, although created on the order of the Ministry of Defence for air crews, is sold in Russia without permits. It is a very solid knife with a saw on the bolster and a notch for cutting lines. Rubber handle, with a flat metal pommel and holes for a lanyard or wrist strap. Blade with anti-glare finish. Leather sheath with a snap button closure on the belt loop.
