Sanada
Description
A Japanese dagger from the Tokisu model line designed by Martinez Albainox. A very aesthetic knife made of stainless steel. It belongs to the Tokisu model line, which includes knives clearly referring to the Japanese tradition. This particular knife is modeled on daggers from the hamidashi subgroup, which were characterized by small-sized tsuba (tsubais the guard between the handle and the blade). Flat grinds. Traditional Japanese handle wrapped with string (cotton or silk non-woven fabric was traditionally used). This wrap has a name tsuka-itoand is intended to prevent the hand from slipping on the handle, just like the ribs on European knives. There is a small engraving visible under the wrapper. It is a traditional decorative element of Japanese melee weapons called menuki. Leather sheath with decorative embossing.
The Tokisu brand belongs to the Spanish company Martinez Albainox, once one of the largest knife manufacturers in Spain. Today, Albainox still designs its own knives, grouped into several registered model lines, but has moved almost all production to China. However, these are still branded products, which means that there is someone who cares about their quality. In such a system, the place of production ceases to be a disadvantage and becomes an advantage, because it allows us to offer an excellent price-quality ratio. The Tokisu model line includes knives that clearly refer to the Japanese tradition. They are made of Chinese industrial steel, in this particular case it is 7Cr17MoV, which can be a great steel, close to D2 in terms of characteristics, or a worthless crap like in cheap no-name products from AliExpress.
