Sable S390 (stabilized karelian birch handle + mammoth tooth)
Description
Luxurious hunting knife made of Bohler-Uddeholm steel, hardness 64-68 HRC. A drop point blade with a straight spine with a minimal drop at the tip, high hollow grind. From the middle of the length to the point, the spine is partially ground, although not to the full false edge. A very elegant handle, as befits a top-shelf knife: stabilized Karelian birch with a mammoth tooth insert and a melchior disc at the base of the blade. Under the handle, on the blade, there is a laser engraved manufacturer's monogram and the inscription: ""Ручная работа S390". Leather sheath, brown, Finnish type. The hardness of the blade is given according to the manufacturer's catalog: "up to 68 HRC". I realize that 25 HRC is "up to 68 HRC" but since the pandemic started, I don't even mention the war, I can't travel to Russia.Earlier it was enough to exchange two sentences with a technologist to get a clear picture. On the other hand, they operate in a very competitive market of niche products, so they try to be responsible for the characteristics provided. It is generally assumed that the hardness of S390 after proper thermal treatment ranges between 67 and 70 HRC.
