SH-8 black

A heavy field knife with a double guard. The blackened blade is made of AUS-8 steel, hardened to 57-58 HRC. It features a drop point profile with a straight spine drop and a false edge on the tip. The grind is a partial hollow grind. Although the blade length (16 cm) isn't staggering for a field knife, the SH-8 is quite heavy – 317g without the sheath. This is due to the blade and tang thickness exceeding 4.5 mm, which is substantial. This, along with the presence of a full double guard, means that in the Russian Federation, the SH-8 is subject to trade restrictions as a melee weapon under Russian law: it is available only to military personnel, hunters, and officers of law enforcement agencies, as indicated by the number placed on the spine below the guard. Upon purchase, this number is recorded in a military service record book or service ID. The blade also features the manufacturer's hologram and the inscription "Кизляр сделано в России" (Kizlyar made in Russia), and on the other side, "Ш-8" and the manufacturer's logo. The handle is made of Elastron, and it comes with a leather sheath featuring a plastic insert and a silent clasp.
