Description

Full-tang field knife of the tracker subtype, made of Pakistani pattern-welded Damascus steel. Generally speaking, tracker knives are heavy survival knives, almost always in a full-tang configuration, designed to combine the features of a knife, an axe, and a saw. Tracker blades often feature two distinct zones, each with its own grind angle, which makes them similar to Indonesian parangs. The zone at the tip end of the blade, being heavier and wider, is intended for chopping and batoning. The narrower zone closer to the handle, typically with a higher and more hollow grind, is designed for more precise cutting and carving work. Knives of this type very often feature a saw on all or part of the spine.

The Ronin features all of the distinctive characteristics mentioned above: a full-tang blade, a heavier and wider zone near the point, and a low hollow grind. The blade profile at the point deviates from the standard – the Ronin has an American tanto profile here. The serrations on the spine in the zone closer to the handle are clearly a saw, with a length of 50 mm. Handle scales made of micarta. Original plain leather sheath, designed for carrying the knife not just horizontally, but rather diagonally - and not at the hip, but either at the front or the back. There is a pocket on the sheath, but it is empty. A sharpening rod is housed in a leather loop on the side.
