Razvedchik
Description
A modern replica of the iconic scout knife from the World War II era. It is not an exact copy, as that would classify the knife as a military-grade weapon under the laws of the Russian Federation, restricting its availability to military personnel only. Therefore, it has been manufactured with minimal modifications compared to the original.
The blade had to be made thinner than in the original, a change that, along with the use of the very hard H12MF stainless steel (the Russian equivalent of D2 steel), has proven to be a significant improvement. The knife is lighter, holds its edge exceptionally well, and is far more practical than its predecessor. As befitting a scout knife, it features an anti-reflective finish. The wenge wood handle has been given a more refined, ergonomic profile. The knife includes a leather sheath (as knife makers from the Novgorod region rarely stoop to using nylon sheaths) with a robust, double-strap retention system for the handle.
