Razdelochny
Description
Knife with a birch bark handle. The bark rings are threaded onto a mandrel and pressed between two pieces of wood, in this case a black hornbeam contrasting with the light birch. This handle design, very light and practical, is often found in Finnish knives. Such a knife, especially if it is not additionally burdened with a metal crossguard or a metal handle head, is light and, with a good blade, can be operated without any effort. Wide (4 cm at the widest point) drop point blade with a full flat grind. The base of the blade is blunt, with a recess for the finger at the bottom. The handle ends with a duralumin shield that acts as a bolster.
