Description

The Ranger Puukko M95 is the first in the family of Peltonen puukko knives. It is the model from which the M07 and Ranger Cub M23 are derived. The knife, like most practical knives, is as simple as a hammer. It features 80CRV2 carbon steel, which is prone to corrosion but offers high impact strength, toughness, and ease of sharpening. The hardness is 59 HRC. The blade has a classic puukko profile, a drop point with a minimal drop at the tip. It features a straight, parallel spine and cutting edge. The knife has a partial flat grind, in this version, there is no ceramic anti-corrosion coating. Holding the M95 is enough to notice that the center of gravity is closer to the end of the handle. This confirms that the thermoplastic is molded over a full tang, not a thin stick tang. The handle is made of black thermoplastic, and the sheath is black leather. The sheath attaches with an included Velcro strap, a practical solution that offers greater adjustability.
