Description
Heavy survival knife from the K25 model line by Martinez Albainox. This knife is a survival "heavy artillery", so heavy that in terms of functionality it can be considered a machete. Full tang, well-shaped handle with plastic covers is not afraid of water and gives a firm grip even when wearing thick gloves. There is a long single-row saw on the back that can really be used to saw wood. Khaki kapron sheath with plastic insert, paracord spare and sharpener in a zippered pocket. Blade with hardening titanium coating. A really well-designed knife, the only drawback, in my opinion, is its considerable weight - the knife itself is 540 gr, together with the sheath - 746 gr.
The K25 brand belongs to the Spanish company Martinez Albainox, once one of the largest knife manufacturers in Spain. Today, Albainox still designs its own knives, grouped into several registered model lines, but has moved almost all production to China. However, these are still branded products, which means that there is someone who cares about their quality. In such a system, the place of production ceases to be a disadvantage and becomes an advantage, because it allows us to offer an excellent price-quality ratio. Albainox knives are mostly made of Chinese industrial steel, in this particular case 8Cr13MoV, which can be a great steel, close to D2 in terms of characteristics, or a worthless piece of crap like in cheap no-name products from AliExpress.
