Pathfinder (birch bark handle with metal castings)
Description
A knife with a birch bark handle finished with decorative metal castings. The bark rings are threaded onto the tang and compressed between two metal castings. Handles made with this technology are often found in Finnish knives. The base of the blade is blunted on both sides, with finger grooves on both sides. On the casting crowning the handle's pommel, there is a stylized monogram of the manufacturer and a flying goose. The lower casting has a protrusion on one side that serves as a finger rest.
