Description

A field knife from the Spanish company Cuchilleria Forester. The name is a reference to large knives commonly used in Malaya both as a gear for household work and as a weapon for hunting and fighting. It must be said that this knife, apart from the blade profile, has little in common with parangs, at least when it comes to their most important feature, which is the presence of sectors with different grinding angles on the blade. It was designed by Jose Sabater, a knife craftsman famous in Spain. Made of corrosion-resistant 1.4116 steel, the Parang from Sabatera has a blade in which the highest point on the spine near the tip is raised above the ridge line which, together with a high flat grind makes the knife well suited for cutting. It is also suitable for skinning and with a thickness of 4 mm on the head, it provides above-average resistance to overloads. This is enough to attract the attention of every tourist and hunter. Full tang pattern, handle covers made of pressed jute.

Forester is one of the few old Spanish manufacturers that has resisted pressure to move production to China. The knives are still not only designed but also manufactured in the Forester factory in Albacete, Spain.
