Osa (H12MF)
Description
A mid-sized hunting knife featuring a stacked handle crafted from black hornbeam and birch bark. The construction involves threading bark rings onto the tang and compressing them between two pieces of wood – in this case, black hornbeam, which creates a striking contrast with the light birch. This lightweight and practical handle design is commonly found in Finnish knives. A knife built this way, especially without the added weight of a metal guard or pommel, is exceptionally light and handles effortlessly with a well-sharpened blade. The base of the blade features the maker's mark and the inscription: "сталь Х12МФ кованая" (forged Kh12MF steel). The pommel includes a lanyard hole. The knife comes with a leather sheath featuring decorative embossing.
