Nord-2 (leather handle, duralumin fittings, gilding)

This hunting knife from the renowned Zlatoust company features a gold-plated blade made of 95x18 steel. This is a high-quality stainless steel hardened to 56-58 HRC. The blade is massive (5 mm thick at the spine) with a curved finger groove on the spine and a slightly smaller choil on the cutting edge side. The spine is straight, tapering to the point in a straight line, with a false edge ground along its entire length. It has a partial hollow grind. One side of the blade bears the inscription "Росоружие Златоуст" with the manufacturer's logo. The other side features a galvanically gold-plated drawing of a sailing ship. The steel grade marking, 95x18, is stamped at the very base of the blade. The handle is made of leather rings threaded onto the tang, finished on both sides with white duralumin fittings - a pommel and a bolster. At the end of the handle, there is a hole for attaching a lanyard or wrist loop. The sheath is made of smooth, black leather, embossed with the manufacturer's logo and the inscription "Росоружие Златоуст". The knife is very beautiful but quite heavy – 264 g without the sheath.

The Zlatoust company is one the few Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. It prides itself on a centuries-old tradition in the production of bladed weapons.
