Description
A 440C stainless steel survival knife with a plastic sheath containing a firesteel, a sharpening stone, and a line/belt cutter. The solid drop point blade (almost 5 mm at the ricasso) with a high flat grind is mounted with a full tang extending through the entire length of the handle to a nut at the handle head. What is noticeable in the knife's profile is that it is practically devoid of a stabbing point. That is, there is a point, but it is impossible to stab with it; in addition, the grind line is shortest at this point and the sharpening angle is the largest, and as a matter of course, it is the most difficult to sharpen the knife there. The handle with a rectangular cross-section made of anti-slip rubber plastic provides a comfortable and stable grip. The sheath is also plastic; the knife sits in it firmly enough that it can be safely carried with the handle pointing downwards; there is additional fastening with Velcro straps. There is a diamond sharpener on the back of the sheath. There is also a 40 mm firesteel. For working with it, there is a section on the ricasso devoid of coating and with unchamfered edges. I will not comment on the quality of the sharpening stone, because generally, I consider them, forgive me gods of survival, a nuisance. Bright green lines on the handle phosphoresce in the dark.
