Description

Clone of a Soviet World War II fighting knife known as the NR-43 ""NR-43"". The abbreviation NR-43 is deciphered as ""scout knife"" (Russian ""нож разведчика 1943""). These knives remained in service with the army long after the war. The modern NR-43 from Saro retained the blade profile (clip point), the original wooden handle was replaced with a rubber one, as in most SARO field knives. The fully functional double-sided guard has changed its shape slightly, in the original NRs it was S-shaped. The tip of the tang protrudes from the head in the form of a glass breaker. As for the sheath, the NRs from Saro have undergone the same metamorphosis as the rest of the company's model line - they have been equipped with new ABS sheaths with a MOLLE-compatible suspension system. Holes on the edges of the sheath allow them to be sewn (i.e. laced with paracord) to backpacks, tactical vests, carrying systems, also when placed with the handle down. The knife is released in three variants: made of 65G carbon steel (with black oxide for protection against corrosion), AUS6 stainless steel and H12MF steel, which is the Russian analogue of D2.
