Montero (olive wood handle scales)
Description
A large and quite heavy (720 gr with sheath) double-edged hunting dagger from Cuchilleria Forester. The blade is symmetrical, separated by a long central fuller. Low hollow grinds. Prominent cross guard. Stainless steel 1.4116 with a hardness of 56-57 HRC. The blade is engraved with the J&V Adventure Knives emblem (trade brand of the Cuchilleria Forester factory), the inscription "Montero Made in Spain" and the steel brand marking. The full tang scheme (Forester doesn't seem to accept batch assembly of the blade) with olive wood handle covers. Leather sheath, brown, with a loop for hanging on the belt.
Forester is one of the few old Spanish manufacturers that has resisted pressure to move production to China. The knives are still not only designed but also manufactured in the Forester factory in Albacete, Spain.
