Minoga (black blade)

A lightweight tourist knife produced by Dagestani company Kizlyar, from the same model line as Navaja and Nerka. Blackened (oxide) blade with a trailing point profile (the tip of the knife is raised above the back line) with a partially concave grind. There is a belief that this blade shape means the knife is intended for skinning, but this is not true. For example, it is much easier to remove a pot from a fire with such a knife than with a drop point blade. At the base of the blade on one side is the inscription"Minoga"and the manufacturer's logo, on the other "Kizlyar Made inRussia".The knife has a comfortable handle made of black elastron with a guard to prevent fingers from slipping onto the blade. At the end of the handle there is a hole for a lanyard. Leather sheath with a snap button fastening above the aforementioned rubber liner.

Kizlyar company from Dagestan is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. Kizlyar prides itself on combining the old traditions of Caucasian craftsmen specializing in the production of edged weapons and new production technologies.
