Matador
Description
This Vityaz pocket knife is made of Russian 50X14MF stainless steel. The blade features a straight spine and a high hollow grind. On one side of the blade, below the handle, there is the manufacturer's emblem and the inscription "Матадор"; on the other side is the steel grade designation - 50Х14МФ. It uses a back lock blade locking mechanism. The knife stands out due to its rather uncommon crossguard, which looks cool but is not very practical – the guard does not fold, unlike in NKVD labour camp-style folding knives, and will constantly snag on clothing when carried with the clip. Therefore, it is worth purchasing a pouch for it. The blade is not very impressive in size, but due to the handle's construction, the knife is quite heavy, weighing 192g.
Similar to another model from this company called Vjun (now out of stock), this is a somewhat retro-style pocket knife; such handle decorations were popular on pocket knives from Vorsma in the early 20th century.
