Description
Replica of a Greek machaira made of steelХ12МФ (analog D2)in a leather sheath. This is a single-edged blade weapon originating from Persia, with a blade narrower at the hilt and widening towards the point. The hilts were closed or half-closed, often with a hooked head ending in a stylized head of a bird, lion, snake, etc. Machairae were used both in infantry, including heavy infantry (hoplites), and in cavalry. This machaira is a replica of an infantry weapon - cavalry machairae were longer.
