Lord
Description
Knife with a birch bark handle. The bark rings are threaded onto a mandrel and pressed between two pieces of wood, in this case a black hornbeam contrasting with the light birch. This handle design, very light and practical, is often found in Finnish knives. Such a knife, especially if it is not additionally burdened with a metal crossguard or a metal handle head, is light and, with a good blade, can be operated without any effort. Drop point profile with a straight back and minimal drop at the tip. Partial hollow grind. The base of the blade is blunt, with a recess for the finger at the bottom. The handle ends with a wooden protrusion that serves as a guard.
