Description
Melita K company from Kazan (Tatarstan) is among the top Russian manufacturers of knives, including those classified as combat knives. The latter are made to order for the Russian Federation's security forces. Melita prides itself on using its own patented stainless steel (70X16МФС) surpassingother stainless steels in terms of hardness and flexibility. They often also apply camouflage coating to the blade.
Komandirskij 2 (there is a variant of this knife without a saw, called Komandirskij, not to be confused with the similarly named folder from SARO) has a main spear point blade with a bolster (52-56 HRC), matte finish, and a tool blade with two saws: one for wood and one for metal. Both blades have side lock mechanisms. The handle scales are plastic. The knife is sold complete with a leather sheath for belt carry.
