Katran (textolite handle scales)
Description
A heavy-duty full tang field knife with textolite handle scales. The blade is made of blackened (oxidized) AUS-8 steel hardened to 55-57 HRC, which is slightly lower than its potential (AUS-8 can easily be hardened to 57-59 HRC), likely to prevent chipping during chopping tasks. It features a partial hollow grind and a wave-shaped cutting edge. The tang is exposed and fitted with micarta scales secured by three screws. At the end of the handle, there is a lanyard hole for a strap or wrist loop.
Below the handle, the blade is marked with "KIZLYAR Сделано в России” and a hologram. The other side of the blade features the manufacturer's logo and the inscription "Катран". The sheath is smooth, made of black leather, and features a snap button closure.
Kizlyar prides itself on combining the ancient traditions of Caucasian craftsmen specializing in cold weapons with modern production technologies.
