Katran (gilded pattern welded damascus, stabilized wood handle blue)
Description
A Zlatooust-made knife, forged from so-called damask steel. Zlatooust damask steel is distinguished by its high quality and exceptional aesthetics. The "Kischen" is stylized as a combat knife, with a guard typical of Russian combat knives. The handle is made of plastic and ends with a guard on one side and a duralumin pommel on the other. The pommel has a hole for attaching a lanyard or wrist strap. Beautiful trialing point blade (knife tip extending above the back line) with a very original grind – partially concave on the blade side and two false edges on the butt. On one side of the blade, a gold-plated drawing using galvanic method. On the other side, under the handle, there is a gold-plated inscription: "Rosoruzhie Zlatooust" and the manufacturer's logo. Black leather sheath, embossed with the manufacturer's logo and inscriptionZlatooust.
Zlatooust is one of several Russian knife manufacturers known widely beyond the borders of Russia. It boasts a centuries-old tradition in the production of bladed weapons. The gold plating, in which Ural Zlatooust is the undisputed leader among Russian companies, looks exceptionally good on dark damask blades.
