Katanga-2 (black blade)
Description
A sturdy knife from the renowned Dagestani company Kizlyar, with a blackened (oxidized) blade and a non-slip handle made of Elastron G. The blade, coated with black oxide and featuring a tanto profile (similar in shape to the Argun-2 knife blade), is specially designed for maximum stabbing efficiency, ensured by special protrusions running along the blade (clearly visible in the pictures below the back). Such protrusions are characteristic of many Kizlyar hunting knife models (Orlan-2, Argun-2, etc.) and are called "stiffening ribs" (Russ.ребра жесткости). A low concave grind starts approximately at the 2/5 mark from the blade's edge. The spine is straight along its entire length. Leather sheath with a plastic insert and silent fastening.
Kizlyar company from Dagestan is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. Kizlyar prides itself on combining the old traditions of Caucasian artisans specializing in the production of edged weapons with new production technologies.
