K25 boot dagger (olive)

A symmetrical, double-edged dagger with a very well-designed thermoplastic handle featuring a double guard. The knife is unambiguously designed as a combat/self-defense weapon. The double-edged combo blade, which combines a plain cutting edge with a serrated one, is coated with a black titanium hardening layer. Apart from its use in combat and for cutting ropes/nets, it has rather limited functionality. The handle, made of thermoplastic and ABS rubber, provides a secure grip even with such a small handle, and the fully functional crossguard prevents the hand from slipping onto the blade during thrusts. The black Cordura sheath with a plastic insert has a belt loop, but knives of this type are very often carried on load-bearing systems, for example, attached handle-down or behind a bootleg.

The K25 brand belongs to the Spanish company Martinez Albainox, once one of the largest knife manufacturers in Spain. Today, Albainox still designs its own knives grouped into several registered model lines, but has moved almost all of its production to China. However, these are still branded products, which means there is someone to ensure their quality. In this arrangement, the place of production ceases to be a disadvantage and becomes an advantage, as it allows for an excellent price-to-quality ratio. Albainox knives are mostly made from Chinese industrial steels, in this specific case from 7Cr17MoV, which can be an excellent steel, close in characteristics to D2, or worthless junk like in cheap no-name products from AliExpress.
