A large survival knife from the K25 model line by Martinez Albainox with a compartment in the rubber handle. It resembles the once popular "Rambo knives", which had a "survival kit" in the handle. The composition of the kit differed in different models, usually it was thread, fishing line, fishing hook, some basic medicines - it doesn't matter, I'm not going to discuss it. What seems more interesting to me is the usefulness of the waterproof compartment itself. In my opinion, such a hiding place definitely makes sense as long as it does not weaken the structure of the knife itself, and in this respect this knife looks quite solid. Thunder I is the largest of the four "Rambo knives" in the Albainox offer and it must be admitted that the 200 mm blade with a thickness of 5.5 mm made of steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC gives considerable durability. But this coin has two sides: a blade with a military clip point profile, with a hardening titanium coating, with an over 10-centimeter double-row ball on the head, giving a weight of 330 grams. A stiff polymer sheath with a kapron frog, an additional skeleton knife and a signal mirror adds twice as much, a total of just over 660 gr.

The K25 brand belongs to the Spanish company Martinez Albainox, once one of the largest knife manufacturers in Spain. Today, Albainox still designs its own knives, grouped into several registered model lines, but has moved almost all production to China. However, these are still branded products, which means that there is someone who cares about their quality. In such a system, the place of production ceases to be a disadvantage and becomes an advantage, because it allows us to offer an excellent price-quality ratio. Albainox knives are mostly made of Chinese industrial steel, in this particular case 8Cr13MoV, which can be a great steel, close to D2 in terms of characteristics, or a worthless piece of crap like in cheap no-name products from AliExpress.
