Jacob full tang

A sturdy field knife complete with a firestarter from the K25 model line by Martinez Albainox. The Jacob product series also includes a large field cleaver, a fixed blade knife, and a small auxiliary neck knife, although in the latter case the name "Jacob" was not marked on the blade, possibly due to lack of space. All of these products share the same design style, with gray G-10 handle scales/tangs and polished blades with grinds at different angles where possible, with the small auxiliary knife being an exception here again. The Jacob fixed blade knife is a solid full tang field knife recommended for hunters, bushcrafters, and survival enthusiasts. The Jacob is sold complete with a firestarter. It has a 145 mm long and 4.6 mm thick drop point blade with a high flat grind and a wave-shaped cutting edge. The grind line near the tip is shorter than on the rest of the wave-shaped cutting edge, resulting in the two different grind angles mentioned earlier. The full tang handle with G10 scales and spacers is water-resistant and provides a secure grip even with thick gloves. The knife is sold with a very decent thick black leather sheath designed for vertical belt carry.

The K25 brand belongs to the Spanish company Martinez Albainox, once one of the largest knife manufacturers in Spain. Today, Albainox still designs its own knives grouped into several registered model lines but has moved almost all of its production to China. However, these are still branded products, which means there is someone to ensure their quality. In such an arrangement, the place of production ceases to be a disadvantage and becomes an advantage, as it allows for an excellent price-to-quality ratio. Albainox knives are mostly made from Chinese industrial steels, in this specific case from 7Cr17MoV, which can be an excellent steel, close in characteristics to D2, or worthless junk like in cheap no-name products from AliExpress.
