JBK-I
Description
Heavy hunting knife (500 g) of the bowie type, which will perform excellently as a cleaver and a machete. Full-tang configuration (push-tang assembly is very rarely encountered in Spanish hunting knives), but in this case, such a design seems to be the only proper one, as the knife is intended more for chopping than thrusting. Partial, low hollow grind. The spine near the tip is ground down into a swedge. Micarta handle scales. The blade material is Spanish molybdenum-vanadium steel with a hardness of 54-56 HRC. The Cudeman company logo (an elephant's head) and the inscription "CUDEMAN MOLIBDENO VANADIO Made in Spain JBK-I" are visible on the blade. Double-sided crossguard with holes located at its ends. There is also a hole at the end of the handle for attaching a wrist lanyard - a very useful feature on a knife of this weight. Solid black leather sheath with an embossed elephant's head.
The Cudeman company is a renowned knife manufacturer from the Spanish "knife-making hub" of the Albacete region. A company with traditions, it is one of the few European manufacturers still resisting the pressure of Chinese competition.
